Our Guiding Principles

Vision

Loop will be the first business banking platform to enable businesses to manage their money globally by default.

Mission

To help businesses seamlessly manage money around the world so they can access more markets, save money, and simplify their operations.

Values
01

Ownership

We own by building, not by delegating. We reject “good enough,” we take pride in the craft, and we sign our work.

02

Speed

Velocity is our only advantage. We act, learn, and adjust rather than waiting for perfect answers. We show up on time, prepared and fully present. When we see a gap, we don’t say “someone should do this.” We do it.

03

Respect

Courage over comfort. We protect our customers’ business as if it were our own, and we’ll walk away from revenue if we aren’t the right solution. We say what we mean, directly, and we support each other through hard truths.

04

Grit

The obstacle is the way. We finish the whole job: documentation written, edge cases tested, next team briefed. We don’t complain. We troubleshoot.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why work at Loop

Loop is a fast-growing fintech startup building the only truly cross-border banking platform. Joining at this stage means more responsibility, faster learning, and a front-row seat as the company scales. You’ll own real problems, ship work that reaches customers quickly, and see the direct impact of what you build.

If you like moving fast, wearing a few different hats, and solving complex problems, you’ll find an environment where your work is visible and your ideas actually land. Loop is building something meaningful, and we’re only getting started, come be a part of it.

Who thrives here

We’re looking for builders. The people who thrive at Loop take ownership of a problem and see it through, even when the path isn’t obvious and the answer isn’t handed to them.

They’re leverage-obsessed, reaching for a system, a script, or a tool before reaching for more hands. They’re restless about how things are done, because “how it’s always been done” isn’t an answer; they’re always hunting for a better framework or tool to raise their own output. Hard problems energise them rather than wear them down, and they show up with solutions, not just complaints.

Underneath the drive is a real sense of care. They believe we can rewire global finance, and they’re happy to spend today in the gritty detail of making that work. They protect our customers fiercely, treating their money, time, and trust as their own. They know the best work doesn’t happen alone, and that real collaboration means candour over comfort. They push their peers hard because they want them to be great, and they finish what they start, tying off every loose end so nobody has to clean up behind them.

If that’s how you already work, we’d like to meet you.

How we hire

Our process is weighted toward real work, we’re interested in seeing first-hand how you think and solve problems.

You’ll typically start with a virtual meeting with our hiring manager to talk through the role, followed by an in-person meeting with the one or two team members you’d be working alongside. Most roles also include a hands-on step, such as a take-home assignment or questionnaire; engineering applicants take part in a paid, two-day in-office trial working with the team on real problems. This tends to be the most valuable part for both sides: we see how you approach the work, and you get a real feel for the team.

Along the way, you’ll also meet in person with Sarah, our Chief of Staff, and Cato, our CEO and Co-Founder. We finish with a background check before making an offer.

+
What you get

Startups move fast, and so will you. You’ll get real ownership, early: you’ll own problems end to end, not slices of someone else’s project, and what you build reaches customers in weeks, not quarters.

Because we’re a small team with no layers, you’ll have direct access to leadership. You’ll be in the room for strategic decisions, working directly with the people making them, including our CEO. The people around you are demanding because they want you to reach your potential, and they’ll tell you the truth to get you there.

And your role won’t stay fixed. As Loop scales, your scope grows to match what you can carry, not what your title says. You’ll see how a business runs from the inside and grow into a role that matches your skills and ambitions.

On the day-to-day side, we also offer:

  • Participation in employee stock options program*
  • Three weeks vacation*
  • Enrolment in the group health benefits plan after your probation period*
  • Catered lunch every Friday
  • A stocked kitchen full of snacks and drinks to keep you going throughout the day

*For full-time employees only

Culture

At Loop, we believe the best ideas happen when we’re in the same room, thinking out loud and making things happen in real time. Headquartered in Toronto, our culture thrives on in-person collaboration: we come prepared, make fast decisions, and skip the endless meetings and waiting for perfect answers. If you’re energized by autonomy, quick execution, and solving tough problems alongside a talented team, you’ll fit right in.

Bonus: we’re pet-friendly, too!

Why you might not want to work at Loop

We’d rather be upfront today than waste your time six months from now. Here’s the honest version.

You want a job description set in stone.

The role you’re hired into will change. We’re building a category that doesn’t exist, and scope moves with the business, not with your title. If you want a defined lane, we’re the wrong company.

You prefer direction over high agency.

Nobody here will hand you a task list. We don’t hire armchair generals; we hire people who find the gap and close it. One of our actual rules: your project status can never be “waiting on someone else.” If a dependency is blocking you, you’re expected to step outside your role and unblock it yourself.

You prefer polite agreement over direct feedback.

We believe in being open with each other, including when it comes to feedback on your work. We’d always rather share something directly than let it turn into hallway conversations or quiet disagreement. And we won’t hold back honest feedback just to be polite. If something isn’t working, you’ll hear it early, from your peers as much as from your manager. Some people find that kind of environment clarifying; others find it draining. It’s worth knowing which one you are.

You measure growth by the size of your team.

We create leverage before headcount. Systems, automation, and tools before extra hands. If your definition of growth is the number of people reporting to you, this is the wrong place. If it’s the size of the problem you own, it’s the right one.

You view work purely as a set of hours.

We hold ourselves to outcomes, not clock-ins. Money movement doesn’t always respect a calendar. When a launch, an incident, or a regulator’s deadline lands, people here don’t wait to be asked. They stay with the problem until it’s finished.

You’d prefer to work remotely.

Our office is at 1255 Bay Street in Toronto, and we’re in it together 5 days a week. It’s how we move fast: decisions get made on the spot. If you’re looking for a remote role, this isn’t one.

What you get in return.

Real ownership of real problems. Unrivalled growth. Direct access to the people making the decisions, including our CEO. Peers who push you because they want you to be great, and leadership that’ll back you when you make the hard, correct decisions.
